At Elm City, we truly believe that every project is different, because every client and need is different. Nobody on our staff has singular responsibilities – everyone uses their range of skills and experience to benefit each project. That’s one of the many reasons why we’re able to deliver high-quality work, even when facing deadlines that our clients have often told us are “impossible.”

Stu Katz

President of Elm City Communications is just one of the many hats that Stu wears every day. He’s a conductor of sorts, making sure that every project has the right talent in place to be executed to perfection while at the same time ensuring each client is extremely satisfied.

He’s the one that consistently challenges the rest of the staff to produce projects that exceed the client’s expectations. That comes from 30 years of experience in healthcare, understanding the disease states, the tight timelines and the sensitivities that go along with working in this industry.

He’s also the first to go the extra mile. He’s regularly volunteering to be in our productions (even if the role is a non-speaking delivery guy) or help out with any aspect of a shoot to make sure it goes off without a hitch. He’s basically willing to do what it takes to make every production great – and that can-do attitude trickles down to everybody working on the project.

Stu graduated from Ithaca College, earned a Masters degree in Communications from Seton Hall University, and has served as an Adjunct Professor at both schools. He has produced more successful projects than any of us can count, while remaining tirelessly committed to producing pro bono work for non-profit organizations nationwide.

Meredith’s title might indicate that she’s regularly holed up in a dark edit room, pulling together the more technical aspects of our jobs, but dark rooms could never hold the light Meredith shines on a much more important aspect of our work: the relationships that make them successful. Because at Elm City, we define production a little differently.

Trust, camaraderie, respect, and having fun – these are the gears that need to turn effortlessly in order to ensure foolproof production on any project. This is the culture Meredith fosters internally, and what she brings to our clients as she guides projects from proposals to delivery.

Before joining our team in 1999, Meredith worked as a casting director in Los Angeles, for both television and feature films. Before that, she earned a Bachelor’s in Communications from Emerson College. At Elm City, she is the absolute glue between our clients, our staff, and beyond – building a strong rapport with the professionals we bring on for specific projects, discovering fresh talent, and more. In an industry known for a high turnover rate, Meredith’s strong bonds have helped Elm City remain a constant for almost 20 years.

Rick is our can’t-stop-won’t-stop logistics and success guru. He sees every new client and project as a unique opportunity to wow everyone involved. It’s not a showboating thing. It’s just a genuine reflection of who Rick is. One part problem-solving perfectionist, one part caretaker, and then at his heart: a real love of production. And having fun.

After graduating from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Television Production, Rick went on to work for a wide range of clients, including the YES Network and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Rick is an absolute champion of making our process a breeze for clients. Many come back because they know we’ll seamlessly manage their project soup to nuts and to completion – from storyboarding and script-writing, the technical details and final delivery, Rick ensures every aspect of the workflow goes smoothly.
